Dear UMC in Wayne, This Sunday is Palm & Passion Sunday!
On Palm/Passion Sunday we journey together, through hymns and scripture from the Gospel of Matthew, with Jesus from a parade of palms to the cross. Witnessing the story as a whole helps us experience the movement of the Gospel: Christ exposes the evil of our violence, and meets it with nonviolence, forgiveness, healing and community, setting us free to renounce all violence and live in his spirit of mercy and love. It is only in the cross—in the context of our suffering and our evil—that the grace of God’s life-giving love and forgiveness can honestly promise resurrection. After the parade of palms our Sunday School kids will be decorating easter eggs! This is the final day of our very successful soup sale! And, the final call for Easter Flowers! The order form is attached.
